About the Author
Assalamu alaykum,
I’m Hassan Abdul Aziz, the author of Amari.
The story of Amari began fifteen years ago with my dream of becoming an Islamic filmmaker and screenwriter.
One day, while sitting in front of my laptop searching for an idea for a film, I asked myself a simple question:
Why are there so many epic religious films for Christians, yet so few for Muslims?
That question became the beginning of Amari. At the time, I envisioned it as an epic religious film like Ben-Hur. I began writing the screenplay of Amari with enormous excitement, convinced I was about to create something unforgettable.
Then reality arrived.
Halfway through the script, I realized that producing a historical epic of that scale would require a budget I did not have and could not realistically expect anyone else to finance. As time passed and my financial difficulties grew, I buried my dream and stepped away from both the screenplay and filmmaking itself to focus on building a more stable life and career.
Fast-forward fifteen years. After finding financial stability through online business, I finally had the opportunity to return to creative work. The idea of writing an Islamic novel came to me.
When I sat down to think of a story, it hit me: Why not turn Amari into a book?
Over the next two years, I devoted myself to writing it.
Today, Amari exists as a novel in hardcover, paperback, eBook, and audiobook formats.
As a debut novelist, I am deeply grateful to every reader willing to give my book a read. I sincerely hope you enjoy reading or listening to Amari as much as I enjoyed writing it, inshaAllah.
Assalamu alaykum.
